Mary’s Story in her own words…
“Before I joined Steel Habitat, I had never attended a gym in m life and was a real exercise-phobe. I’d put on a fair bit of weight with my third child, and although I’d managed to shift some of it with dieting, I couldn’t get rid of the last stone.
I’d be thinking of biting the bullet and trying exercise to help, so when I saw an ad on Facebook for a 6-week women’s program at Steel Habitat, which included 2 semi-private training sessions a week, it sounded like exactly what I needed.
I’d have no idea where to start if left to my own devices so the intensively coached sessions were ideal for me.
After my first session I was in agony and could barely walk but I stuck with it and in just a few weeks I saw a huge improvement in my fitness levels and strength, which took me by surprise.
It’s also very encouraging to see other female gym members lifting heavy weights, and gives me something to aim for.
The informative chats with coaches and monthly reviews have also meant that my focus has shifted from weight to body fat percentage, and I’m looking forward to continuing to get leaner.
I love that my 5 year old daughter talks about mummy being strong, and asks when she can come to the gym with me.”
